Moving In - By Pete

So I just moved in a couple days ago. I meant to write about it sooner, but I've been trying to unpack and only recently got around to connecting my computer.

There was something a little strange while I was moving in.
Paulie and I were moving in our stuff, or more specifically I was helping Paulie move in HER stuff and moving in MY stuff in at the same time, and Mark came out to give us a hand.

Now, this was really was nice of the guy. I mean, he and Paulie are together but he helped me carry in some of my boxes as well and he really didn't have to.

But what was bizarre was Luke.

The guy was standing at one of those tall windows on the second floor and just kind of looking down at all of us. It really felt like some kind of Norman Bates thing, only I learned that Luke never talks about HIS mother, which I think is a little off in and of itself, since I talk about Mom all the time.

So he stood there for several minutes and then walked away and didn't see him again until we were done. He walked in with a tray of lemonade and said, "Welcome to the house. I made you some lemonade." I guess it was nice of him, but it did creep me out a little bit.

Maybe it's just that he's not like the black guy that I knew back home. I mean, Howard was just like me. We could have been brothers. I don't mean like, brothers, like African-American brothers . . . well, you know what I mean.

Anyway, I saw that our vice-president and former vice-president are fighting.

Wow, Biden vs. Cheney. I would like to see them in a ring. Maybe Dick would have his heart attack finally.

I would like to write Mr. Cheney a letter.
It would say,

"Dear Dick,

On behalf of the American people, I would like to thank you for your service to our country, but your services are no longer required. We would like you to take the generous pension we have offered you and disappear. We don't are where, just GO!

Sincerely,
The American People"

  1. That's nice, Pete. I don't agree with what you said about wishing he'd have his heart attack finally - he is a person like you and me and deserves a long, healthy life. BUT, seeing as i completely disagree with his politics and his entire party in general, I think a polite but firm note is very fitting :) You're such a sweet boy.
